Imagine yourself in a dark passage.<\/p>\n
You have been walking barefoot and at one point you feel lost. Totally lost\u2026 like you used to get lost as a child \u2013 you only know that you\u2019re alive, and nothing else\u2026<\/p>\n
It\u2019s so dark\u2026<\/p>\n
Your feet become your eyes and they lead you on\u2026<\/p>\n
You are afraid but you feel the urge to go on \u2013 curious to know what is behind the next bend.<\/p>\n
There are sounds\u2026<\/p>\n
\u2026human voices singing in the distance.<\/p>\n
\u2026or maybe close to you. What is distant and what is close?<\/p>\n
There is a smell in the air and it makes you stop.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a familiar smell. So familiar, though indefinite, that you are suffused with sensations of a recollection.<\/p>\n
Not a specific recollection \u2013 a picture you have seen or a moment you can remember \u2013 but a link with something which transcends time\u2026<\/p>\n
\u2026something that you don\u2019t remember but is always with you.<\/p>\n
There are more bends, and more turns.<\/p>\n
You plunge into complete darkness.<\/p>\n
You plunge into the nothingness which threatens your being.<\/p>\n
The panic grows.<\/p>\n
You reach out,<\/p>\n
your hand touches\u2026<\/p>\n
\u2026somebody\u2019s touch<\/p>\n
\u2026there\u2019s somebody else here, in the dark\u2026<\/p>\n
But strangely enough \u2013 you are not afraid.<\/p>\n
A gentle voice whispers in your ear\u2026<\/p>\n
\u2026\u201dLong, long ago\u2026<\/p>\n
\u2026and still \u2013 right now\u2026<\/p>\n
\u2026in the emptiness of space and here, in the heart\u2026<\/p>\n
\u2026the magic is still alive\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
And then the other one goes away\u2026 as if he\u2019s never been here<\/p>\n
And you\u2019re by yourself again\u2026<\/p>\n
\u2026or maybe not<\/p>\n
