The Island of the Silencenauts is an UNusual island — one that can change its form, disappear, and then reappear elsewhere.
Born in 2015 as a sensory theatre performance taking place on the largest island of the Golyam Beglik Reservoir in the Rhodope Mountains, it lived through eight editions there before, in 2025, transforming from a performance into a traveling base of the Institute for Silence Research.
The traveling island of the Silencenauts is a creative laboratory, presenting and developing new artistic forms and practices within the dimension BEYOND WORDS, where the audience is invited to become silencenauts — co-creators and explorers.
On Sunday, October 12, the Island of the Silencenauts will materialize for the first time in Sofia, in a truly new and UNusual place — a hidden garden in the Lozenets district, closed to the public until now.
The Island opens its space to silencenaut explorers, creating an experimental environment BEYOND WORDS, where they can create, explore, and discover new forms and ideas.
A one-day festival that presents and unfolds the Silencenaut Culture.
Being on the Island offers an opportunity for quieting, conscious connection with the inner world and the surrounding reality, and — through expanded senses, imagination, and intuition — opens a Portal to a new, subtler dimension.

A donation in support of SILENCE LAB – the first base of the Institute for Silence Research and a creative laboratory in Sofia, dedicated to nurturing and developing Silencenaut culture and practices.
