On November 6 at Toplocentrala, the second edition of NEW NIGHT GEOGRAPHY will take place — a project that literally opens a door to a new world. A world yet to be discovered and mapped. It is the world of the night city, with its branches extending into the invisible and the inner worlds of its explorers — the night travelers.
NEW NIGHT GEOGRAPHY uses an emotional cartography that explores invisible realms through their continuations and reflections in the visible. Beyond the limits of what the eyes can perceive stretch spaces of the unknown — stirring a thrill akin to that before the Great Geographical Discoveries of the physical Earth.
And the most beautiful thing is that this new world, waiting to be sensed, explored, and re-created, begins HERE — just a step away, yet it stretches all the way to the stars. Inside and beyond us. In fact, the boundary turns out to be nonexistent, and the distances — insignificant…
The night travelers are cosmic poets, engineers, and creators of worlds whose beauty and meaning still exceed imagination. For now…
On NOVEMBER 6 at TOPLOCENTRALA, we embark on the second audio-visual journey into the dimension of night worlds, featuring music from Ivan Shopov’s analog modular synthesizer and the visual and sonic interventions of Silencenaut.
This edition’s visual layer will also include imagery from Silencenauts who undertook their own night journeys after the first concert on May 15!
What you will experience is not merely a concert or a visual journey — it is an initiation into the night city! The audio-visual concert is only the beginning of a personal silence-naut journey, in which the audience is invited to become explorers of nighttime Sofia, capturing images that will become part of the visual narrative for future concerts in the series.
In the ocean of the visible, there exist islands of crystalline silence — unknown to most because of the time when they emerge: at night. There are silencenauts who consciously stay awake while the world sleeps, seeking out these islands, exploring them, and later sharing their beauty and poetry with the dreamers.
The poetry of these night islands, even when captured in images, may remain incomprehensible without a special kind of vision. This vision awakens, expands, and deepens with every passing minute of the silencenauts’ nocturnal travels. It carries an intensity and depth unknown to the daylight hours — and this is where Music comes to the rescue.
Music that is free, abstract, unpredictable, born in the moment. It brings the images to life and turns them into portals to worlds invisible to the eyes — to untold stories, perceptible only through the subtlest senses, and most of all, through the Heart, which remembers an ancient feeling of unity and connection with all things — a feeling that may hold salvation for a world torn by fear and doubt.
