“Sensory Theatre Sofia” and the “Institute for Silence Research” announce an open call for leaders/guides of the Sofia Sensory Tour, who will undergo free training to become guides for this original cultural and tourist project.
Unlike most city tours that provide historical information, the Sofia Sensory Tour immerses participants directly in the present moment, offering a deep and personal journey along a route through the very heart of the city.
The two-hour tour takes place entirely beyond words, and part of it even beyond sight, unlocking the participants’ remaining senses and creating a unique opportunity to experience Sofia in a surprising and completely different way.
The route of the Sofia Sensory Tour is kept secret from the public and includes both iconic landmarks and hidden corners in the city center.
Participants move in pairs, with each pair accompanied by a specially trained guide from the Sensory Theatre Sofia team.
The training aims to expand the circle of prepared facilitators for the Sofia Sensory Tour. After successfully completing the program, participants will have the opportunity to join the project’s professional team and lead the weekly tours, which take place every week from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Candidate Requirements:
- We are looking for attentive, sensitive, artistic, and punctual individuals who have an interest in others and a desire for deep self-reflection and exploration of the surrounding world.
- The training in the methods of the Sofia Sensory Tour is free of charge and open to participants of various ages and disciplines who are motivated to join the project’s team of guides.
Application Deadline:
Apply by October 3, 2025 by filling out the participation FORM.
Training Duration:
Five training sessions will be held during October 2025 (approved candidates will be contacted by October 5 and will receive the detailed schedule. Sessions will take place in Sofia after working hours and on one weekend).
Apply if you feel the call and join this unusual urban adventure, where life reveals itself as a performance for all the senses, and time slows down—or even stops…
The Sofia Sensory Tour project is carried out with the financial support of Sofia Municipality – “Europe” Program 2025, by the association Global Vision Circle, in partnership with the Association of Tour Guides in Bulgaria and the Sredets District.
