NEW NIGHT GEOGRAPHY is a project that literally opens the door to a new world—a world yet to be discovered and mapped. It is the world of the night city, with its extensions into the invisible and the inner worlds of its explorers—the night travelers.
NEW NIGHT GEOGRAPHY employs an emotional cartography that explores the unseen worlds through their continuations and reflections in the visible. Beyond the boundaries perceptible to the eye lie realms of the unknown, evoking excitement similar to that before the great geographical discoveries of the physical Earth.
And the most wonderful thing is that this new world, which is yet to be felt, explored, and recreated, begins HERE—just a step away—and stretches to the stars. Inside and outside of us. In fact, the boundary turns out to be non-existent, and distances insignificant… Night travelers are cosmic poets, engineers, and creators of worlds whose beauty and meaning surpass imagination. On May 15th at Toplocentrala, an audiovisual journey into the dimension of night worlds awaits us, with music from Ivan Shopov’s analog modular synthesizer and the visions and sound interventions of Silence-naut.
What you will experience is not just a concert or visual trip, but an initiation into the nocturnal city! The audiovisual concert is just the beginning of a personal Silence-nautic voyage, where the audience is invited to become explorers of night Sofia—to capture images that will become the vision for the next concert in the series, scheduled for November!
NIGHT SILENCENAUTIC JOURNEYS?
In the ocean of what the eye can see, there are islands of crystal silence that remain unknown because of the time when they occur—at night. There are Silence-nauts who consciously stay awake when everyone else sleeps to seek out, explore, and then share the beauty and poetry of these islands with the sleeping world.
The poetry of these night islands, even conveyed in images, can remain misunderstood without a special kind of vision. This vision awakens, expands, and deepens with each minute of the night journeys of Silence-nauts. It possesses an intensity and profundity unknown to daytime perception, and here Music comes to the rescue.
Music—free, abstract, unpredictable, arising spontaneously—brings the images to life and turns them into portals to worlds invisible to the eyes, untold stories only perceivable through subtle senses and, most of all, the Heart, which recalls an ancient feeling of Unity and interconnectedness—an emotion that can bring salvation in a world torn by fears and doubts.
